Smugglers is dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and embarking on a net zero journey.
Our commitment starts with a 50KWh Solar System and battery storage.
We have a target of 50% reduction in electricity consumption. This eco friendly approach not only powers our operations sustainably but also contributes to combating climate change.
To further reduce our carbon emissions we have changed all of our light fittings to LED lighting.
Water Harvesting
Smugglers takes water conservation seriously through our water harvesting system. Utilising extensive roof space, we collect rainwater, diverting it to our 20,000 litre underground water harvesting tank. This harvested rainwater becomes the primary source for supplying drinking and washing water to our horses, reducing our reliance on external water sources and promoting sustainability.
Waste Management
In our dedication to responsible waste management, Smuggles recycles the manure produced by our horses. By spreading it on the land, we encourage grass growth without resorting to harmful chemicals, preserving wildlife and water courses. This eco-conscious practise reflects our commitment to maintaining a harmonious balance between our operations and the natural environment.
Electric Car Charging Points
In 2024, we’re rolling out electric vehicle charging points as part of our commitment to green initiatives. Along with our eco-friendly practises, these charging stations will further align with our vision for a greener future.
